He is also a founding board member of the JNTUH Alumni Association USA, contributing to the educational advancement of students from his alma mater, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTU), India.

Swamy earned his Bachelor of Technology in Printing Technology from JNTU Hyderabad, India, in 1993 and his MBA from the University of Phoenix, USA, in 2010.
